Love you vs. I love you.

It’s a small thing, and not a big deal to a lot of people, but to me it’s such an important detail.

I feel like “love you”… isn’t as meaningful as I love you. Love me? Okay… who loves me? My mom? My dog? Food? Yeah, I know they love me. My boyfriend and I always include the “I” before the “love you.” It just seems right.

  1. I found this blog because I googled the subject. It bugs me too and I'm a 40 year old man. The way I see it is this: "I love you" without "I" just leaves "love" and "you". "I" doesn't want to be involved for some reason. I think "love you" is noncommittal and lame. The 2 women that had this habit both finally admitted to having no feelings of love for me and left. Maybe a coincidence maybe a harbinger. Either way it sucks.
